Unofficial Guide to New Orleans, 2003 writes:
"Alex Patout's is one of very few restaurants in New Orleans
that cooks the food of the Cajun country. On the other hand,
Alex's cooking has an almost gourmet finish in many dishes,
which is an accomplishment - Cajun food doesn't much lend itself
to fancy service. Although the chef uses a lot of cream and
butter, he also likes things like crab fat and tasso."
Zagat
2004 notes that this "upscale but not expensive" Cajun-Creole
restaurant where a "friendly" staff serves up 150-plus wines
and "consistently good specialties "made by real bayou chefs"
within "elegant" surroundings.

at the northshore location are the best. That's a big endorsement
coming from someone who eats out 2-3 times a week"

into your restaurant last night for the first time. We had been

. and we were not disappointed. We were probably not properly
dressed as sailors tent to get, but the stafff was helpful and
we agreed to sit a little out of the way so as not to disturb
other folks. Food was wonderful! Thanks again for a perfect

Wonderful
Idea! I would like to express my appreciation for your offering
the Louisiana Tasting Menu. I enjoyed a wonderful dinner on
Tuesday evening. The 4 courses were delicious. The portions
were just right for the selections. I did enjoy some wine with
my dinner. Kenneth was the Waiter who provided very good service.

First
time we visited Alex Patout's: my "week-long birthday celebration"(
ALWAYS in New Orleans!) March 7, 2004 We loved it!! Our son
and his wife will be in New Orleans for Jazz Fest, and we are
faxing him your menu and info. I know Casey and Courtney would
LOVE dining here! We'll be back, too, as soon as possible! Thanks
